Etiquette is current. Being civil and kind never gets old or goes out of style. The principles of etiquette remain as solid as they ever were. Manners change over time and across cultural boundaries, but the principles of respecting others and making those around you comfortable are universal and timeless.
Etiquette is unpretentious. A polite person never tries to be someone he’s not, nor does she look down on others. There are so many rules for your behavior that you really don’t have time to judge someone else’s behavior!
