Why is it that some people can not replace the toilet paper roll? In this series, That’s Rude, we’ll look at the most common behavioral infractions.
That’s why I chose replacing the toilet paper roll as #1. How difficult can it be? You sitting (or standing) there already? When you use the last of the toilet paper roll and walk away without replacing it, you are basically saying, “I’m all that matters. I got what I needed….so that’s all that matters.”
It’s not ALWAYS about you! That’s the basis for most rude behaviors…selfishness and being self-centered. Even if you are at someone’s home and you use the last of the roll, approach the hostess with a low voice and say, “There’s no more toilet paper in the bathroom.” Easy peasey! And for the love of all things etiquette, please put the seat down if you put it up. Leaving the toilet seat up in someone else’s home/bathroom is gross and let’s the host know that you don’t care about other guests.
Being concerned for those around you, those that go after you, is the way well-behaved people go through life, parties, and bathrooms.
